Purchaing Tips
 


Generally quote 3 sources. Don't just build a vendor list, build a list of relationships.
Always look at "cost" and not just "price". Know your vendors' processes.
Let your employer know how valuable you are.  An aggressive buyer can sometimes create more profit for the company on an order than a sales person can. Negotiate everything 
you can.
i.e. - Terms, Delivery, & Specification
Know your vendors' good and bad points, and anticipate them. Remember no one ever complained about too much information on a purchase order.
Communicate as much as possible in writing. GOOD LUCK
